Today we took a day trip out to Ninh Binh. Our hotel arranged us a private driver to take us 2 hours southeast of Hanoi. This trip consisted of multiple stops as things were spread out.

Lotus pond

Hiking Hang Mia Peak with a few pagodas and a dragon sculpture!

Previous photo was at the pagoda at the top.

Next stop was Hua Lu ancient capital. This used to be the capital before it was moved to Hanoi around the year 1000. By this point it was raining hard but we got ourselves some ponchos and made the most of it!

Dinh Temple
Water buffalo!

The last stop was Trang An boat tour! This fits 4 people to a boat and is rowed by a local through rivers and caves and temples.

Lookin good!

This scenery is like something you’d only see on the Discovery Channel. It was so peaceful and quiet out there. You could hear the birds and crickets and the ripple of the water.

The caves came so low we were often ducking.

Then we made our way back Hanoi and settled on some ice cream for dinner!

Sticky rice with ice cream and mango with ice cream!

Hanoi and it’s couple day trips have been great! We are very happy with our time here. But tomorrow we fly to Da Nang!
