Today we departed Scotland and began our roadtrip through England. But let me tell you, wow, this drive was so beautiful. It was unreal! Many pictures today!

The Lakes District is Englands largest national park with 17 lakes. Famously known from Taylor Swifts song, The Lakes. 😉 She wrote the song about a holiday she took to the area and how she wishes she could escape her life and stay there. She mentioned how famous English poets such as William Wordsworth often escapes to the lakes, as this is not a new idea and people have been doing it for centuries.

Field of wild flowers

Stopped for lunch in Carlisle.. and forgot to take any pictures! But a cute little town!

As far as the eye can see, there are fields in every direction speckled with sheep!

Made our way to the nearby town of Keswick and its lake, Derwentwater.

Imagine that being your house!

Finally made it over to where we will be staying for the night, Augill Castle. Built in 1837, and purchased but the current owners in 1999. The owners have tried to keep as much of the properties original qualities as possible. Such a cute and homey place. A lovely unique experience to stay in a castle!
