Finally had a traditional English breakfast!

Today was a big travel day. We started in The Lakes District and drove about 3 hours south to the Cotswolds region, starting in Stratford Upon Avon. This is supposedly the birthplace of Shakespeare and is actually the place he is buried. We browsed the town and visited the church he is buried in as well as grabbed lunch .

The Cotswolds is a region with a lot of small towns/villages. There isn’t much to do besides drive through. But it’s just beautiful and the houses are so cute !

By this point we had been driving for maybe 5 hours today with a couple stops in between. Finally made it to our Airbnb, this cute little cottage in Swinbrook, sitting off a single lane country road (so scary when it’s still two way!).

Then before we lost all our sunlight, we travelled another 40 min to visit Oxford.
The drive :

The University:

The campus was just insane! I can’t believe people actually go school there, it just doesn’t feel real! The architecture is so cool! So glad we made that extra trip to Oxford even if it was just for a couple hours!
That was our day. Nothing crazy today, mostly travel! For reference, here is our travel path in the UK so far. We started in Edinburgh in the north and went to the Lakes District – this is in red from yesterday. Today, we started in the Lakes District and travelled to the Cotswolds – this is in blue.
