1 week in and last full day in Madrid/Spain.
Today was focused on art and food 😁 staring with a casual breakfast.

Followed by a few good hours at the Prado Museum to see lots of art mainly by Goya, Bosch, and Velazquez. (No pictures allowed)

Then after a quick hour recharge at the hotel we were off for a food tour in La Latina neighborhood.

Stop 1 : Tortilla de Potatas. We are very familiar with this one now. This was definitely the thickest one I’ve seen and has onions and goat cheese, paired with a beer 🫠.

Stop 2 : Vermouth and a cheese board. I was actually nervous to try the Vermouth because I don’t like martinis and it very much looks like a martini… but it was actually quite delicious. Pretty sweet and easy to drink. I actually went to this same restaurant on day 5 by myself. Everyone was ordering this but I was hesitant and didn’t think I’d like it, but so glad I got to come back and give it a try!

Stop 3 : Calamares Sandwich on squid ink bread, and some padrón peppers. paired with a very sweet Madrid wine custom to this restaurant.

Stop 4 : mushrooms with garlic! Aka champiñión del ajillo . Some with jamón. This was probably my favorite stop of the trip! Super delicious! Also paired with tinto de verano y blanco de verano.

Final stop of the night was us grabbing some snacks at the supermarket. I feel like every country you visit, you have to make a stop at a convenient store/grocery store to see what goodies they have. this time we opted for paprika Pringles, some cookies, and chocolate.

Half a day in Madrid tomorrow and off to Lisbon!
